Caberfeidh Horizons is a vibrant social enterprise that works with adults and young people who face various challenges in their lives. We aim to provide them with training, work experience and social opportunities that increase their confidence, health, life skills and community involvement. We also run three shops that sell second-hand goods and a community hub that offers food share, advice and warm spaces to meet.
We are grateful for the support of our board of directors and office bearers who oversee the governance and strategic direction of our charity. Recently, we have had some changes in our board composition and we would like to share them with you.
First of all, we would like to acknowledge and thank the board members who have stepped down from their roles after years of hard work and dedication. They are Christine Briddon, who was our secretary, Doris Carlin, Gail MacPherson and Isla Russell. They have made invaluable contributions to Caberfeidh Horizons and we wish them all the best for the future.
Secondly, we would like to warmly welcome our new volunteer directors who have joined our board. They are Hannah Mitchell, who has expertise in training young people in life skills, Lesley Milligan, who has been a long-serving volunteer at our charity clothes shop and a retired teacher, and Alison Leiper, who is a retired social worker from the adoption and fostering team in Highland. They bring with them a wealth of professional knowledge and experience that will benefit our charity immensely.
Thirdly, we would like to announce the changes of our office bearers. Ailsa Schofield is our new secretary, taking over from Christine. Ailsa is a retired police officer and will no doubt keep our board in line. Craig Scott, who has recently returned to the Caberfeidh family, is our new chair, taking over from Patsy Rimell. Patsy remains with us on the board as our new deputy chair and we are truly thankful for her continued support during this time of change.
We are delighted to have such a diverse and talented board that reflects the values and vision of Caberfeidh Horizons. We look forward to working together to make a positive difference in the lives of the people we serve and the community we belong to.
